It was pretty tricky deciding whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars (wish we could give half stars on Yelp). Some days the food is really good and some days it's substandard. If they can keep their quality consistent, then it'll be worthy of 4-5 stars! The menu consists of mostly Korean food but has pasta as well.

Seafood pasta: Sometimes it's reallyyy good and other times it's just alright. The first two times I got it, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the seafood was good. This past time (when I took the picture) though, the pasta was way overcooked and the shrimp was bad. The shrimp was probably old and frozen too long or something because it had no texture; you could literally crush it by pushing down with your tongue. Yuck. If you want to get this, I recommend getting it spicy/slightly spicy. It normally doesn't come that way but it's good when they add spice to it.

Ddukbokki: It's not the best but not bad either. I'm probably just way too picky about ddukbokki because I grew up with it and it's always the best making it at home. But it's pretty good here so if you like ddukbokki then I recommend it.

Tuna kimbap: I honestly think this is my favorite. Hands down the best tuna kimbap ever. I was never a fan of tuna kimbap and just liked regular kimbap but this place changed me forever. This is what bumped my rating from 3 to 4.

I've also tried a couple of other items from their menu and everything is pretty good. Again, I think this place has a lot of potential if they work on consistency.

Poetree cafe is a restaurant that serves dine in food with some desserts. It's more of a sit down restaurant than cafe, with the food options being very extensive.

There is traditional Korean food like kimbop and stone bowl kimchi rice but it also has interesting combos of Italian pasta with donkatsu. We ordered a tuna kimbop, the Italian pasta with donkatsu, and stone bowl kimchi.

The stone bowl kimchi with spam and egg was pretty hearty. It wasn't as spicy as other kimchi rices but the rice was properly cooked (sometimes at other places stone bowl rice can be overcooked and hard) .  The tuna roll was pretty standard Korean fare, but the quantity was like 10 rolls for $5. The katsu and pasta were also decent, the katsu was well fried and wasn't too dry. My 2 year old liked it so that wins over any taste test for restaurants we visit.

Quantity wise the portions are huge for the price. We spent around $35 dollars and we had two boxes of leftovers. I think I'd definitely come back with the price and pretty good food. I can see it being a local restaurant to visit to try the new foods.

My family and friends always choose this spot for a casual lunch or dinner when we want good korean food. They also do korean/italian-ish dishes (donkatsu with pasta). Their kimbap is good, but not what I come here for. The UFO dishes & potato cheese balls are BOMB. Highly recommend.

The ambiance is pretty nice & casual, and the restaurant isn't loud at all. It's on the smaller side - with only around 6-7 tables. It can get pretty busy, but I don't imagine the wait for a table being over 20-30 minutes. Definitely try it if you're looking for korean food/a korean cafe in Suwanee!

W O W ! I went back yesterday for a birthday dinner, and guys... this place never disappoints. 4 out of the 6 people have never been to Poetree so they were all pretty excited and critical (to a point), because of how much I R A V E D about this place. Needless to say they were all speechless.

    We ordered:
    - 2 kimbabs - bulgogi + tuna
    - 1 donkatsu pasta (basil)
    -  2 UFO's - kimchi fried rice + beef fried rice (both with the egg and cheese option)
    - 1 cheese and pork spicy rice cakes
    - 1 kalguksu (sorry idk what that is in english)

AND GUYS WE KILLED IT. At first we were worried that it would be too much food but quickly realized it was not enough. No worries though, it was good we weren't full out of our minds.

ALSO, they reorganized (?) the layout of the restaurant. They got rid of the booths( which in my opinion was a good call) and added more tables. So LESS wait time! Bumping it up to 5 stars from 4 because more tables = little/ no wait time = happy Ros!

SRSLY if you haven't checked this place out yet, GO!

Very cute decoration. Props to the interior design of this place. The food here is very good  and for the price it is worth.

Tuna Cheese Kimbap- this was okay. Not the best tuna kimbap. Dan Moo Ji and Harue have better tuna kimbaps.

Pasta+Donkatsu (Poetree Pasta with the Clam and Tomato Sauce) - this was delicious but eating this will leave you with that heavy feeling that you get from eating too much buttery oily fried foods. Also it's very basic. This sauce had no taste of clam in it. It tastes like regular tomato sauce. We also asked for spicy but it wasn't spicy at all.

Overall this place is good and affordable for a nice casual meal. In terms of bringing a group, I wouldn't bring more than 6 friends. Friendly staff and service. Good vibes overall.
